How are medications managed?

Residents must inform staff of all prescribed medications. Medications are to be securely stored and taken as prescribed. Staff may assist with medication management to ensure adherence and prevent misuse.

Is there a curfew?

Yes, a curfew is in place to ensure the safety and structure of the recovery environment. Curfew times may vary based on the program phase, but it typically starts at 10 PM on weekdays and 11 PM on weekends.

Can I have visitors?

Visitors are allowed during designated visiting hours. All visitors must be approved by staff in advance and adhere to the house rules. Overnight guests are not permitted.

What is the policy on employment or education?

Residents are encouraged to pursue employment, education, or volunteer opportunities as part of their recovery journey. We provide resources and support to help residents achieve these goals.

What if I return to using illicit (including marijuana) substances?

While our goal is to support ongoing sobriety, we understand that relapse can be a part of the recovery process. If a relapse occurs, the resident may be asked to leave the house temporarily or permanently depending on the situation. We work with each resident to develop a plan for re-entry if possible, including referrals to additional treatment if necessary.

How is confidentiality maintained?

We take residents’ privacy seriously. Every intention is made to keep all personal information and discussions held within the house confidential in accordance with DLH regulations and policies.

How long can I stay at the DLH?

Length of stay is individualized based on each resident’s progress and needs. DLH strongly recommends residents stay between 3 to 12 months. The goal is to provide support until the resident feels confident in their ability to maintain sobriety independently.
